In Search of Gandhi - Signed

Richard Attenborough was 39 when he first became determined to make a film on the life of Mahatma Gandhi. On the face of it, this successful man on the brink of comfortable middle age would appear the least likely candidate for an obsession that would bring him to the verge of bankruptcy, make him an object of ridicule, draw him into international diplomacy and arouse a raging controversy amongst a national of some 700 million inhabitants.
