Commemorative Plate First Presbyterian Church - Starke Florida

“The First Presbyterian Church of Starke Florida was organized on December 15 1884, under the leadership of its first pastor Rev, R. B. Mattice. There were 23 charter members, and until the present church building was built in 1886, services were held twice monthly in the First Methodist Church.

In 1952 the congregation was dismissed by North Florida Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. to Suwannee Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. Rev. WS McAliley is the present pastor of the church, and as of October 1st 1954 the church has 96 active members.”
