Trinity Methodist Church was organized as a pastoral appointment March 22nd 1913 under the leadership of reverend T.B. Lawrence, its first appointed pastor. For a number of years it was known as The Perry Avenue Methodist Church, and was sponsored by the Snyder Memorial Methodist Church. The present sanctuary was erected on the corner of Glendale and Eloise Streets in November, 1927, during the ministry of the reverend Milton F McKinney. Other pastors who have served the church are: A.R. Adkinson, C.B. Wetherall, R. J. Derr, W.W. Vanderhoff, M.M. Reynolds, W.C. White, J.F. Pickard, W. G. Aldridge, and R. J. Gizler. The present pastor is the Rev. Durward McDonell, Trinity Church is a wide-awake church, with an active membership of 375 persons. Because of its location amongst towering pine trees, and its amplified chimes, Trinity Methodist Church is known as "The Church with the Chimes in the Whispering Pines."
